This page lists a number of example projects that show various use cases for TaskJuggler. Please note that these examples may require the latest developement snapshot. A copy of the examples is included which each TaskJuggler gem and will be installed when you install TaskJuggler. You can use the following command to find the directory with the examples that matches your installed version:

Tutorial

This example provides a quick overview of key TaskJuggler features. Every new user should spend some time to understand this example. It is more than an introduction of basic features. It also showcases some advanced features to provide an idea of what TaskJuggler is capable off.

Project Template

This example provides a template file for new projects to start from. It contains some key elements that most project files have and explains a typical structure of a TaskJuggler project file.

It also comes with a set of example reports to get you started. This file is just a first guideline to get you started. TaskJuggler is very flexible and powerful and provides lots of other features not used in this template. Don't get yourself locked into this template. It's meant to grow in complexity with your project.

To-do List

TaskJuggler is a very powerful project management software. But it also is a great to-do list manager or task manager. Here is a simple example of a personal to-do list.

Fedora 20 Project Plan

This example was derived from the original Fedora 20 project plan. It is included to show how TaskJuggler can be used to coordinate the release of large open source projects without the need to manage individual resources.

Scrum Example Project

This is an example of a Scrum project. It illustrates the creation of backlogs and burndown charts.

TaskJuggler 3.5.0 has been released

This release took a little longer to bake due to a change of jobs on my end. The long wait comes with some long wanted features like hammock tasks. Many error messages were made clearer and are hopefully now more informative. We also made the switch to Ruby 2.0 as recommended Ruby version. 1.9 is still fully supported and even 1.8.7 and later work with some restrictions. [Read More...]
