TaskJuggler Documentation

User Manual for the TaskJuggler Version 2.4.1

The TaskJuggler Manual for the last stable version is available online and for download.  It is also available as PDF or as Postscript file.

User Manual for TaskJuggler Development Version

We try to keep the development version as stable as possible. But there might be occasions, when this version is corrupted, contains wrong information or is otherwise unusable. We are sorry about this. Usually the problem will be fixed within a few days.

The manual of the TaskJuggler development version is available online and for download.  It is also available as PDF and Postscript file.

In addition to the TaskJuggler 2.x development we've recently started work on TaskJuggler3. This is a rewrite from scratch but will be 99% compatible to the TaskJuggler 2.x syntax. The TaskJuggler3 Syntax Reference Manual can be found here. Curios users can also browse the source code documentation here.

TaskJuggler Workshop Slides

It usually takes no more than 2 to 3 hours to get productive with TaskJuggler. But for larger project plans some deeper knowledge of TaskJuggler can be helpful. Therefor, we have created a workshop that provides a training for people that are generally familiar with project management, but have no or little knowledge of TaskJuggler. It covers all basic and most advanced features and can be held in two 3 to 4 hour sessions. The workshop is a hands-on training and participants should have the latest stable TaskJuggler version available on their computers to complete the exercises. Please contact one of the developers if you are interested in such a workshop. A copy of the slides in Open Document Format or PDF is available.

TaskJuggler XML Reports

As an alternative to the human readable TaskJuggler syntax files, TaskJuggler also supports an equivalent XML format. The content is the same between the human readable format and the XML format. Both can be read and written by TaskJuggler. The DTD is available here. Use the "Save As" function of your browser to download the file. Your browser will try and fail to render the XML file when you just click on the link. An example XML file can be found here. TaskJuggler XML files are gzipped.

Please contact us in case you write tools that read or write TaskJuggler XML files so that we are aware of it in case we need to make changes to the format.
